Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 Beta released

Kaspersky Lab, producers of one of the best and most popular security software ‘Kaspersky’ has released the Beta build of their upcoming new security suite Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 (version 12.0.0.234).

I just tested the new Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 and was surprised to see a completely new GUI once again. KIS 2012 includes a Windows Sidebar gadget, Task manager, and a range of other new features. It now offers a trial license of 3 months. Currently, there are no signs of Kaspersky Antivirus 2012 BETA at their official forum.

Protect Google Chrome Browser with Simple Startup Password

If you want to dig the history of a person, dig the history of his web browser and you will know what kind of person he or she is. All the data in a browser like saved passwords, bookmarks, history are very confidential stuffs and any unauthorized access to these can be fatal. If you are a chrome user you can now safeguard your data by protecting it with a password using Simple Startup Password extension.

Simple Startup Password  is a very simple plugin that protect your browser with startup password

Soon after you install the extension navigate to to Settings -> Tools –>Extensions and look for Simple Startup Password . To setup the password click on option. Set a password for your browser but make sure you type in correct password before hitting enter because there is no field to re-enter the password.

Now each time you open Google Chrome you will be asked to authenticate yourself. If you fail to provide the password the browser will close. There is no way in which you can recover the password and thus by any chance you forget your password you will have to reinstall it.


Limitation

1.You need to be very sure before you set your password as there is no way you can check whether you have typed in correctly.

2.If you forgot your password by any chance there is no way you can recover it and you will have to reinstall your browser.

3.The password field is not masked and any one sitting with you will be able to see the password.

4.If you are quick enough you will be able to press the bookmark button and see all the bookmarks before the plugin loads.

Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate version released by Microsoft and available to download now. Below is the list of Internet Explorer 9 keyboard shortcuts to make more fun using IE9 also it can speed up you work and easily to access certain task more faster.

How to open command prompt at any location in Windows 7

The command window is very essential to performing various system tasks. Sometimes however, we wish to open a command prompt at a specific location, instead of opening the general command prompt and then giving the required path.


The path may be unknown or too long. This tutorial demonstrates how to open a command prompt window at any location in Windows 7.

Go to the location where you want to open the command prompt window. (e.g. the Desktop)
Press the Shift key and right-click simultaneously. This menu has the option “Open command window here”. Click on it and you are good to go..

 The same thing can be done when right-clicking on a folder also.

Most of us have an account on Facebook. Productivity Gurus keep telling us that Facebook and Twitter are a waste of time, but we still keep going there to socialize with our online buddies.

Note that there is no need to press the + key while using the shortcut. The + symbol signifies that you must press the two other two keys simultaneously. Also, if you are using Firefox web browser, then you must use the Shift key instead of the Alt key.

Check if Someone Else is Using Your Facebook Account? (New Tips)

Notice some suspicious activity on your wall? Well there some simple security settings built into Facebook – some of these settings are new while others have been around for some time – that should help you quickly detect if any other person is secretly logging into and using your Facebook account.

Go to Facebook.com -> Account -> Account Settings -> Account Security. Here you’ll see a list of all computers and mobile devices that have logged into your Facebook account and when. You can also see the approximate geographic location of the device, based on the IP address, that was used to access your Facebook account.

If you come across an unknown device / location in the list, say you are Mac user and the device listed is IE on Windows, just click the corresponding “end activity” link and it should immediately log you out from that machine.
For extra safety, you may also choose to receive email and SMS alerts if someone else tries to log into your Facebook account from a previously unknown computer or mobile phone. (I wish Google could bring such a feature to Gmail as well).
